1st Scholarship tournament was held on 2071 with the acknowledgement of Nepal chess Association and Asian Chess Federation. It was one of the major root level tournament which guaranteed a scholarship for the winners of the tournament for the higher secondary and under graduation studies. The 3-day tournament had attracted more than 100 players from the different part of the country and has become landmark of its own on the development of chess culture in Nepal. The earlier edition has been acknowledged highly for its effort on development of chess in Nepal both by media and sports councils. The 2nd edition is scheduled to be in June 1 to June 3 with GoldenGate International college as scholarship sponsor as a part of Chessmandu 2018 events which is a rating tournament and is acknowledged by Nepal chess Association, Asian Chess Federation and world chess governing body, FIDE.
Objectives
- To help Nepal chess Association and its mission on Chess Games development on Nepal.
- To identify young raw talents and groom them for the future.
- To increase the interaction and make known the essence of the game and its values.
- Promoting and popularizing the game on the root level.
Invitation:
Chessmandu Events and its subordinate cordially invites players from all School, Chess Club/Academy to participate in the 2nd edition of scholarship Chess Tournament. It will be held at GoldenGate International college (Battisputali, Kathmandu) from 1st to 3rd June 2018.
Eligibility:
The tournament is open to all school level students up to the SEE 2074 Appeared and below.
Fooding & Accommodation:
- A launch will be provided to the participant every day at the same worth of entry fee.
- Accommodations will be provided to every out station player
- Additional Rs. 700 is to be submitted for full boarding including two time meals.

5 % will be wavered from the entry fee if the school has 7 or more participant.

However, entry will be accepted till June 1, at the venue till 10:00, with late fee of Rs. 100.
No request towards waver of entry fee will be entertained.
The entry fees once paid is non-refundable and non-transferable.
Tournament Rules:
System of Play: The tournament will be conducted as per FIDE Laws of Chess and FIDE Swiss System with 9 rounds. Accelerated pairing should be done for the first two rounds.
Time Control: 60 minutes plus 10 second increment from move 1 for entire game.
Tie-Break: If needed, the following tie-break shall be applied to determine final ranking. However, Cash prize will not be shared.

Interpretation: A player can appeal for fair play or any other technical error but the technical committee’s decision would be final.
Terms and Condition.
- Accommodation would be made available only with prior information to the organizer.
- Scholarship is liable only inside our sponsor GoldenGate Int’l colleges available faculty and level.
- Age confirming documents copy is to be submitted before the end of Round 3.
- Girls will have a different playing section in case of 30 or more participants or else will be mixed but prizes shall be given separately.
